The Knowledge Center for Innovation at the Technion (KCI), was established in 2008 by Prof. Miriam Erez, winner of the Israel Prize, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology to promote innovation in organizations.
KCI promotes innovation through a learning process, which combines managerial and technological knowledge, understanding of organizational processes, and their assimilation into the organization while developing teamwork, organizational structure, and a culture of innovation.
We see the innovation process as a journey – “the idea journey”, which is a multi-stage, non-linear process, with clear milestones. The journey begins with identifying the problem and defining the needs, through raising ideas for a solution, selecting the idea for implementation, promoting it in the organization, and then implementing it in practice and bringing the final product to the user. In each of these stages, there is room for innovation, which is expressed in new technology, new products, process innovation, and management innovation.
This model guides us in practice in a variety of activities that the Innovation Center initiates and leads, which combine exposure to knowledge, training, and the implementation of projects to promote innovation in the industry. On this site, you will find a reflection of most of our activities – we would be happy if you would join the developing community around them and take part in them
